An Integrated Behavioral Approach to the Treatment of Trauma

Up to 20 credit hour conference, on-site at Saguaro Lake Ranch, an authentic western guest ranch set in the Tonto National Forest, just minutes away from downtown Scottsdale, Arizona.


Presentations:

ACE: Adverse Childhood Events; Research, Revelations and Resiliency.
Ms. Stanton will address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), the Foster Care system and their effect on children and the possible relation to the adult health issues, both behavioral and mental, from those experiences.
 
Equine Therapy: Clinical Applications of Utilizing Horses in the Treatment of Trauma
Ms. Fry will be offering a day-long program (8 CEU) on the topic of Equine Assisted Therapies in the treatment of populations diagnosed with PTSD/trauma, ASD, ADHD, anxiety and substance abuse as well as with youth-at-risk, cancer survivors, and military service members and veterans.
 
Equine Therapy: Clinical Applications of Utilizing Equine Assisted Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EA-EMDR) in the Treatment of Trauma
Ms. Jenkins will be presenting on Equine Assisted Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) EMDR is used by mental health professionals to treat sexual abuse trauma, panic attacks, phobias and addictions, among other conditions.
 
Ethics & Cultural Diversity: Ethical Considerations in working with traumatized children and their families, including Foster Care involvement.
Ms. O’Horo brings her considerable talents and insights to the topics of Ethics and Cultural Diversity, transforming these subjects into interesting, thought provoking experiences with her unique presentation skills.
 
Substance Abuse & Addiction: Treatment considerations in working with adults, traumatized as children who have been in the Foster Care and other systems who have subsequently developed addiction and substance abuse issues.
Ms. Vinck will present equine therapies targeted at addressing the emotions underlying addiction. Hoofprints to Healing™ addresses the psyche of a traumatized child or adult as a foundation for solving addiction issues.
 
Children in Foster Care: Ms. Richi will be presenting on "Children in Foster Care: Approaches to the Treatment of Attachment Disorders, Separation Anxiety, and the Trauma of Family Dissolution"  

Open to all interested adults, this exciting and dynamic program offers American Psychological Association (APA), Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) approved CEUs providing continuing education credits for behavioral healthcare professionals, appropriate for:

Single Day Packages *
Choose 1, 2 or all 3 days and stay where you prefer. Each day starts at 8:30am and includes a full Lunch and all Breaks. End times are approximately 6pm.
